Junior Rattler has proven himself to be a very versatile and adaptable performer, showing promise on good ground and soft ground, and then on sharp courses and undulating, testing tracks. Only beaten by three and a half lengths at Ballingarry on his debut in June, he bounced back from a disappointing run at Portrush, which was too bad to be true, when finishing a close second at Tinahely. On that occasion he led the field to the last, before only being headed on the short run-in. He was one of three horses in that Tinahely maiden to get into the placings on Sunday December 1st, when he once again had to settle for the runners-up spot at Mainstown, beaten by just a neck on this occasion.
