This son of Sinndar made his debut at Monksgrange and on a sharp track came out a very promising second to Crystal Glory. That looked a very promising debut at the time but has since been further confirmed when Crystal Glory smoothly stepped up to winners level and scored at his ease at Tattersalls. Gortmillish himself then went to Portrush where he won another maiden with proven depth beating Garde Des Champs by almost a length. That runner-up had finished second in a useful Oldcastle maiden earlier in the season, confirming this to be a decent maiden. It is worth noting that the second, fourth, fifth, sixth and one pulled-up runner in this contest had previously finishe4d in the first four in maidens already this season before this contest. Proven depth such as this is rare at such an early stage in the season suggesting this fellow is one of the safer bets in the catalogue. Furthermore he is out of the high class six-time winner Princess D’Anjou who won the Grade 1 Grande Steeple Chase De Paris.
