It has been quite some time since a youngster posted a time comparable to the one posted by Up For Parol at Damma House. This son of Flemensfirth quickened off a strong pace three out and within strides, the field were spread apart and many failed to complete such was the injection of speed. The clock showed a time of 6:14 but it would take a few hours for the significance of this to be understood. By the end of the day it became apparent that this race was a quite incredible 26 seconds faster than the average time on the day. It was 20 seconds faster than a useful looking five and six-year-old geldings’ maiden and sixteen seconds faster than High Stakes in the winners race who was winning his third race this season having made all off a strong pace. Indeed Solomn Grundy, a horse with a track rating in the 130’s, who won a week earlier in the Open Lightweight and followed up here clocked a time 46 seconds slower than this winner. It is impossible to understate the relevance of a time performance such as this and it is a very rare occurrence to have a youngster outshine his rivals so clearly and by such a wide margin. There is simply no doubting the raw ability this fellow has following this effort.
