This son of Scorpion put in an eye-catching performance on debut to finish second behind stable-mate Western Honour in a five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Farmaclaffley recently. Out of Gaye Lady, the gelding looked at home with the soft underfoot conditions and finished the three-mile event with real purpose. Having travelled well in mid-division throughout, the five-year-old made noticeable headway from two-out and put in a powerful challenge on the run to the finish. The way he finished out his race offered plenty of encouragement and he is likely to be seen at his best over a similar trip in the future. There were plenty of positives to take from this debut effort and with improvement likely with this initial experience under his belt, he is likely to turn into a fine sort in due course.
