Vendor's Notes: Power Of Authority made his debut at Tallow last month and it proved to be an eye-catching initial effort. The Poet’s Word gelding had made a notable blunder three-out which cost him a number of positions and saw him drop towards the rear of the field at a particularly crucial point in the race. However, he swiftly regained the lost ground by challenging the eventual winner exiting out of the back, and he looked a real danger to that rival, a horse who was subsequently sold for €100,000, only to make a second consecutive costly mistake having been upsides at the time. Unsurprisingly, that cost him his chance, but he was still boxing away in a share of second when coming down at the final fence. Those errors have to viewed as particularly costly, but there is no doubt that the ability is there.
