Brooklyn Callin bettered the points victory of her sister Another Day Out when she made a winning debut in a four-year-old mares’ maiden at Quakerstown just last Saturday. Belying her inexperience as the only newcomer in the line-up, she has to be given credit for this, as although there were just four runners in the race, all three of her rivals brought proven form into the race, with two of them having been beaten less than a length in 2024, including one of whom who did so against geldings. Tracking the eventual runner-up for much of the journey, she showed a particularly game attitude, battling back having been outjumped as the tempo increased, to triumph at the first time of asking by half-a-length. The runner-up had been beaten by that same margin at Ballyragget in March by a subsequent bumper winner to add depth to the performance.
