It was no surprise to see Park Talk show plenty of early potential, given that his connections forked out €48,000 to secure the close relation of three-time Grade 1-winner Dodging Bullets at the Derby Sale. Making his competitive debut at Loughrea last May, the son of Walk In The Park finished fourth having made the running. But the decision to change the tactics for his return to action at Tinahely recently paid dividends as it brought a big step forward. Patiently ridden at the rear of the field, it was only after the third-last fence that he began to move forward, progress he made with considerable ease. That left him in third position, with a couple of lengths to find at the penultimate fence, but to his credit, he found plenty on the climb up the hill in the home straight, coming through to take second and only denied by a length. He is clearly a very progressive individual.
