The Big Clubman had been holding definite place claims on his debut in the first four-year-old maiden of the year at Bellharbour back in February, only to come down at the final fence, but he more than made up for that by finishing a close second at Tattersalls in October. Always to the fore, he found himself in third position rounding the bend into the home straight, but he gamely stuck to his task, moving through into second on the climb to the line and closing to within a length and a half of the winner, suggesting that he is close to a maiden victory of his own in the near future.
