It was hard not to be impressed by the performance that Affinity Rock produced when winning by a wide margin at Dromahane last Sunday. The booking of Rob James was an indication that she had been working well prior to her competitive debut, but few could have expected her win just as emphatically as she did. Making all of the running, the Affinisea mare began to increase the tempo on the run to the home straight, and three foot-perfect leaps over the final fences stood to her, but it was the manner in which she sprinted clear of her rivals after the last which was most impressive, allowing her to return 15 lengths when just being pushed out hands and heels. This imposing individual is sure to be among the sale's highlights.
