Out of a sister to the dual Grade 3-winning race mare Morning Run, Girlfromtheglen also proved herself to be a mare capable of making a strong impact on the track, as she was one of two mares that broke clear in a strongly-run four-year-old mares’ maiden at Loughanmore. Moving through with her challenge along the back straight, she was the only horse that was able to quicken with the eventual winner leaving the back straight, as she gamely kept on for pressure. That horse had previous experience and recent race fitness which proved to be too big a challenge for her on debut, but she ran right to the line, pulling an eye-catching 14 lengths clear of the third-place finisher. The clock also pointed to this as being a notable effort, with the race recording the quickest time of the three four-year-old maiden races run on the card.
