As a full-sister to the Grade 1-winning Itchy Feet, Torpille Dagrostis is a well-related mare, and she added to that pedigree by producing a very promising debut at Loughanmore in October. This is a race which produced the subsequent Grade 1 winner The Mean Queen in 2020, and the most recent renewal looked to be an above-average contest, with two smart prospects pulling well clear of their rivals. Torpille Dagrostis was one of them, and this was despite not enjoying the clearest of passages at a crucial point of the race towards the end of the back straight on the final circuit. That left her in fourth position coming away from the penultimate fence, as the winner made her move from home, but to her credit, she gallantly went in pursuit. Whilst she did come up second best, the winner did have the benefit of previous racing experience, and they were some 11 lengths clear of the third, which backs up the view that they are two smart prospects.
