Glory Be To Sea marked herself out as a potentially above-average race mare when she impressively opened her account at Loughanmore in the same race previously won by the subsequent Grade 1 winner, The Mean Queen. This daughter of Affinisea was patiently ridden throughout much of the journey, racing towards the rear of the field before taking closer order along the back straight on the final circuit. Making her ground on the outside, she easily swept past rivals as swiftly went on exiting out of the back. From here, such was the acceleration that she was able to show, only one rival was able to keep in anyway close contact to her, and that was the well-backed odds-on favourite. But even that well-bred rival never got any closer to her than a couple of lengths, such was her superiority in a truly dominant display.
