Santapietra only went down by a narrow margin at Knockmullen House last Sunday on what was her first start of the season. This race was run at a decent tempo despite the conditions, and as a result most of the runners in this maiden began to fold climbing into the home straight. That was not the case for the Flemensfirth mare as she led the field away from the penultimate fence, and it was only in the dying strides that she was headed by the race-fit form horse of the race and recent Umma House runner-up. Given that the pair pulled some 15 lengths clear of the third, it has to be considered as a performance of note.
