The expression ‘form is form’ comes to mind for this Moira winner. Having finished second to Springtime Promise on her debut at Portush she was set to contest a Moira maiden on just her second career outing. Whilst awaiting her turn the winners race on the card saw her conquerer Springtime Promise post a most impressive performance to win the winners contest and become just the second horse this season to win twice. With this confidence boosting form line the punters took notice and sent Ballygelly off even money favourite just half an hour later and she duly made light of her task winning by six lengths. What was notable is that she had been within six lengths of Springtime Promise who won by nine lengths in her winners race showing that this mare has kept good company. It is also worth noting that when meeting the previously placed and experienced Springtime Promise this mare was making her debut so had a lot to overcome. At Moira it was a professional and polished performance where she won and she should have little difficulty in adding to her success going forward. She is out of a dual winning mare to add further to purchaser confidence.
