A son of Walk In The Park, Master Chewy made his debut in the ultra-competitive four-year-old maiden at Tattersalls last Sunday which was won by Present Soldier. He was forced to come wide around the home bend on the run to the final fence but overcame that to approach the final fence holding every chance as he went on to be beaten by just a length and a half. That was impressive debut performance when you consider the depth of the race. Arctic Bresil, who finished just in front of him had seemed the likely winner at Curraghmore when exiting two-out, whilst the fourth was a €50,000 Derby Sale purchase who is a half-brother to a Grade 1 winner. This all points to this being a serious performance.
