Kilgorey was a recent winner at Dowth Hall on what was his second start between the flags. The son of Shantou ran a creditable race on his debut at Inchdoney last May where he was in third position when his rider unseated just two fences from the finish. He is a brother to the five-time track winner Herbert Park and was ridden behind the leaders throughout and progressed to lead at the third last where he further quickened away from his rivals to win by one length. The success saw him beat well-bred individuals with the second and third placed geldings costing upwards of €50,000 each at the store sales. This eye-catching gelding highlighted himself as an exciting sort who will be a real addition to any trainer’s yard.
