Long Stay had the misfortune of bumping into an above average looking winner when he appeared at Dromahane on Sunday. Sixth on his debut at Loughrea last month, the son of Nathaniel showed the benefit for that opening effort when producing a much improved performance at the Cork track. Coming from off the pace, he proved himself to be a tough individual by staying on dourly to finish just six lengths behind Sleepysaurus. With the race being run to a notably quick time, some 18 seconds faster than the day’s average, there were plenty of encouraging signs.
