Mr Mantilla made his debut a winning one when taking his five-year-old maiden at Knockmullen House. Ridden prominently behind the leaders, the son of Publisher always looked to be travelling well where he quickly asserted clear to lead and hold a strong advantage before the second last fence. He soon drew clear of the remainder of the field and went on to win with ten lengths over his runner-up. He looks the sort that will be in the winners’ enclosure again very soon and will provide plenty of entertainment for new connections.
