Elmdale was unsurprisingly sent off as a short-priced favourite for his latest outing at Lisronagh, following an eye-catching second on his return to action three weeks earlier. On that occasion at Castletown-Geoghegan, the Martaline gelding only found Do Your Job five lengths too good in the 11-runner contest, with that horse subsequently proving to be a sales topper when changing hands for £150,000. It was after this second placing that he was strongly fancied ahead of his run at Loughanmore when falling at fence four. The grey-gelding was back in action three weeks later at Lisronagh where he was prominent throughout and quickly moved through the field into a challenging position after jumping the fourth last, until he was eventually overtaken by the winner. Although not reeling in the potentially top-notch Crossing Lines, this fellow ran on very strongly in second and looks to be a horse with a very big future who will show notable improvement from this outing and should be capable of obliging inside the rails in time.
