As is the case with all horses from John Nallen’s stable, Minella Link is a well-bred individual being out of a half-sister to Twice Over, a Group performer for the late Sir Henry Cecil, and he made his debut a winning one when coming home in front at Knockinroe. The son of Rail Link began to make his move along the back straight, as he made his way to the head of the pack before the penultimate obstacle. Whilst he was headed in the home straight, he would surely have offered Henry Gondoff a stiff challenge to the line, over for that rival to exit at the last, allowing him to record a ten-length success.
