McGarry posted a very credible debut performance when finishing runner-up in the five-year-olds geldings’ maiden at Taylorstown last April. Ridden by John Barry, the son of Mahler was never too far away from the pace and travelled very smoothly into the contest to pick up the advantage from the final fence. Neil McKnight’s charge progressed to the lead after the final fence where he showed an impressive turn of foot to go away from the runner-up Autumn Crusade by two and a half lengths. Hailing from a strong flat pedigree that includes Ragusa and Princess Pati, McGarry is bred to develop into a smart track sort and could have a lot to offer to new connections.
