Alaphillipe was the sole newcomer when he lined up against three rivals for his debut at Kinsale on November 2nd, and the patiently-ridden Morozov gelding began to take a big interest in the contest as he moved into a challenging position along the latter part of the back straight. In the end it was only the vastly more experienced Not Fou Sale, a second season horse that was running for the seventh time, who prevented him from making a wining debut.
