Dime A Dozen continued the excellent spring that the progeny of the late stallion Jeremy enjoyed within the four-year-old division, by making a very promising debut on Saturday at Lisronagh, narrowly missing out to a vastly more experienced rival. Always racing close to the pace, the Shark Hanlon-trained bay mare jumped with real fluency over the opening two miles, but her jumping would prove to be her undoing in the closing stages, as her inexperience became evident. Having made good ground early in the home straight to challenge the favourite, Dime A Dozen pecked slightly on landing over the second-last, giving away the initiative. Likeably, she battled back to again get upsides by the final fence, however that more experienced and battle-hardened Takingitallin, got away from the last the quicker, which proved decisive on the very short run-in. This was a very likeable debut.
