A riders body language can often be informative and none more so than on this fellow on his debut last Sunday at Ballingarry. Going to four out many riders have made their move but this fellow sat most confidently back in fifth and the smooth progress into a challenging position two out was quite taking. He stalked the runner up all the way around the home turn and was delivered at the last to produce a winning challenge. With a short run-in at Ballingarry the winning distance of a neck does not do justice to this performance which looked quite taking. It has to be underlined that this race was run in a time sixteen seconds faster than the average on the day. It is most unusual to see one race so far clear of the others and what is further impressive is that Marinero who won the Open on the same card was all of twenty five seconds slower than this son of Martaline. Such times need to be given maximum respect suggesting this could be the makings of a high class youngster given how easily he can travel off a very strong pace.
