Thunderstruck posted a high class display on his debut run when he took the four-year-old maiden at Loughanmore. The Sean O’Keeffe-ridden winner was always prominent where he raced eye-catchingly well behind the leaders throughout. Positioned in second at the last, Thunderstruck kept on well under pressure to lead on the run-in and win by a length at the finish. This exciting winner posted the quickest time of the day which was 10 faster than the day’s average. Thunderstruck is by the ill-fated sire Fame and Glory, whose progeny have created a huge impression on both the race track and in point-to-points this spring and looks to have produced another talented youngster. Out of the dual track winning and grade three placed mare, Go Sandy Go, Thunderstruck proved himself to be something special and combined with his mix of both speed and stamina he displayed on his debut, he looks to have the potential to develop into a high class horse on the track.
