Get Out The Gate cost connections €26,000 from the Tattersalls Derby sale last year, seemingly a small fee following a six-length win on debut at Dawstown. One of six newcomers in the four-year-old maiden, this Mahler gelding was given a confident ride from Harley Dunne. Taking it up from before the seventh of 15 fences, he showed a potent turn of foot and put the race to bed in a number of strides from two out to suggest he is a very sharp individual with all the pace to drop back in trip. Out of Chartani who was a two-time national hunt winner for trainer Henry De Bromhead, James Doyle's charge was value for more than the six-length winning margin. This one could well have black-type aspirations going forward.
