Out of a half-sister to the Grade 2-placed Frankie Figg, Dream On Mick opened his account at just the second time of asking in a 13-runner Tinahely maiden earlier this month. Quite patiently ridden in a competitive contest that was run to a good gallop, he made good ground to sit on the heels of the leading trio approaching the home straight, and from the second-last was one of two horses who pulled clear. The Ol’ Man River gelding showed a great attitude up the hill as he repelled the challenge of the favourite to win going away by five lengths in the quickest time on the card. This was a strong staying performance from a horse with a lot more to offer.
