Golden Current made a striking winning debut when landing the four-year-old geldings’ maiden at Dromahane, producing a dominant performance in a race where newcomers filled the first three places. Always positioned close to the pace, he moved into second five out before taking up the running well before three out and quickly asserting his authority. Bounding clear from before the last, he stayed on strongly to score easily by 12 lengths, creating a very favourable impression. The Golden Horn-sired bay appears to have a nice blend of speed and stamina and looks to be an exciting track prospect.
