Cinnamon Roll is a well-bred individual who won his maiden at Ballycrystal at the very first time of asking, having clearly been expected to produce a performance of that nature having been the subject of strong market support. Patiently ridden under a customary cool Derek O’Connor waiting ride, he edged closer exiting out of the back straight in what was a tightly packed group, and there were still four horses holding claims coming down to the final fence. It was at this point that he showed a great burst of speed to move into the lead, and although showing his inexperience when drifting across rivals on the run-in, he still came home in front by a length and clearly value for that winning margin.
