Totowolfe is clearly a horse that big things have been expected from as he was sent off at the top of the market in each of his two outings last season when with his previous stable. At Stowlin in May, he was the subject of particular support when sent off as a well-backed and short-priced favourite prior to pulling-up. That confidence was vindicated on his return to action on his first start for Ian McCarthy at Ballindenisk on New Year’s Day when winning well in testing conditions. Patiently ridden, the Blue Bresil gelding caught the eye with ease at which he moved through to track the leaders exiting the back straight, and once produced to challenge on the outer at the penultimate fence, he swiftly hit the front. His rider never had to ask him a serious question to beat a race-fit rival quite cosily and he should comfortably make the mark on the racecourse on the evidence of this winning performance.
