Rouge De L’Quest caught the eye with his debut effort last spring when finishing third to Colin Bowe’s Givega at Tralee in testing conditions, and he franked that view when getting his head in front on his very next start. Re-appearing at Dromahane at the end of last month, the French bred son of Fame And Glory was never too far from the pace before he went on in the home straight, overcoming an error at the third last to show that there was plenty left in the tank. Comfortably always holding the runner-up after the last, the pair pulled well clear above their rivals to suggest it was the performance of a horse that should easily make the grade on the track.
