Haiti Couleurs is a son of Dragon Dancer with a progressive profile, as having come from off the pace to finish an encouraging fourth in a big field maiden at Turtulla, a race that was won in the two preceding years by none other than Bob Olinger and Grand Jury, he took a big step forward to only miss out by a narrow margin on his very next start in Borris House. Here he was the only horse that was able to quicken with the all-the-way leader and eventual winner from the back straight, closing to within a length of the well-supported favourite at the last. Gamely keeping on to the line, it was also very encouraging to see him pull some 15 lengths clear of the remainder in a performance that marked him out as a likely winner in the near future.
