Latino Fling ran a cracker when second on her debut in a five-year-old mares’ maiden at Carrigarostig in January. The daughter of Milan, who was one of four newcomers that lined up, was ridden prominently throughout and picked up the pace with winner Ballingers Corner before the penultimate fence when the pair were going for home. Ultimately the winner had the better jump at the final fence, gaining an advantage, however despite that, the bay mare battled gamely on the flat all the way to line to finish just half-a-length behind the winner. The five-year-old is out of a half-sister to nine-time track winner Savello and having posted such a strong run, this well-bred sort, who lost little in defeat is bred to develop into a smart track sort that will not be waiting long to enter the winners’ enclosure.
