Blue Rebel made a taking debut when landing the four-year-old maiden at Farmacaffley, a contest that has produced multiple subsequent winners in recent seasons. Settled in mid-division, he jumped soundly throughout and made smooth headway from three out. He was upsides the eventual faller at the last and appeared to be gaining the upper hand before being left clear, keeping on strongly to score by two and three-quarter lengths. By Blue Bresil, he possesses a blend of pace and stamina that was well suited to this extended two-and-a-half-mile test. Produced by the in-form Donnchadh Doyle yard he shaped like a gelding with a bright future.
