Tucson Train made his debut a winning one when taking his five-year-old maiden at Tinahely in February. The son of Scorpion benefited from a well-judged ride by Jamie Codd and when asked the gelding made progress at his ease from three-out, he then easily took the measure of the always-prominent Sunset West and readily quickened clear from before the last. A slick jump at the final fence put the race to bed where he then dug deep to come home one-and-a-half lengths ahead of his rivals. Tucson Train is a half-brother to eight-time track winner, On Tour, and is also half-brother to two five-time track winners in Global Tour and Galent Ferns. Denis Murphy’s charge appears to be a decent looking prospect, who looks like he is set to further add to this winning family when he makes his progression to track racing.
