The highly thought off My Whirlwind made a lasting impression when taking the first four-year-old mares’ maiden of the season at Ballycahane. Trained by Patrick Turley, the daughter of Stowaway recorded a widening four length success in what looked a competitive 12-runner maiden. Declan Lavery elected to keep things simple aboard the imposing debutant, who made all the running before easing clear of the field turning for home. From here the €42,000 Derby Sale Graduate showed a very smart turn of foot, quickening away to record a comfortable success. From a family of winners, this looks a very smart mare who could prove to be top class under rules.
