River Tyne made her first start a winning one when taking the four-year-old mares’ maiden at Turtulla for Sam Curling. The daughter of Geordieland was up with the pace throughout and the debutant caught the eye when staying-on well from the third last under Pa King. The English-bred showed a very likable attitude in the closing stages, battling on gamely to get the better of another exciting looking prospect on the run to the line. Already a half-sister to four-time winner Close House, this smart looking debutant should be capable of winning her share of races under rules.
