Jeremy Pass was desperately unlucky when coming to grief at the final fence in the four-year-old geldings’ maiden at Ballycahane, as he was running a big race at the time. This was truly undeserved for the debutant, as he had jumped well to that point and was badly hampered when the leader jumped across to his left at the last. However there is plenty of promise to take away from this performance as the gelding made smooth progress from mid division to come and throw down a strong challenge at the penultimate obstacle. From here the four-year-old stuck to his task well on the run to the final fence and looked set to run a big race when coming down. This likable sort could well be progressive under rules.
