Generation Text lost little in defeat when finishing a close second on his only start to date in the competitive four-year-old maiden at Borris. Ridden by Jamie Codd, the son of Getaway was never too far away from the pace and still appeared to be full of running jumping three-out. The debutant showed a nice turn of foot after the penultimate obstacle, hitting the front on the run to the last. An untidy jump here did not help the chance of the €30,000 Derby Sale graduate, who to his credit kept on well to the line, only beaten two and a half lengths. Trained by Denis Murphy, this good-looking gelding looks likely to enjoy plenty of track success in the future.
