Treasure Memory made a strong start to his career when finishing a very encouraging second on his debut at Oldtown last Saturday. One of just four newcomers in the 12-strong field, he certainly outran his 10/1 starting price, as a mistake three-out failed to halt his forward move from off the pace. Travelling strongly into a share of the lead on the long run to the penultimate fence, it was only approaching the last that he dropped into third behind two previously placed rivals. Inheriting second after the last, he kept on to the line, rallying to hold off the late efforts of the Boulta runner-up Country Code in a race that clocked the quickest time of the three-mile races on the card. With so many proven rivals around him, it has to give great confidence to the performance that he produced.
