Changeyourstars was a first winner for her second-season handler Pa King when she got her head in front at just the second time of asking. A half-sister to his season’s Grade 1 Long Walk Hurdle third Beauport, she was able to finish placed on debut at Tattersalls in December in a very encouraging start to her career. A change in tactics for her second start at Tallow saw her initially make the running before being content to take a lead in a race where there were few hiding places. The strong gallop ensured that even with a circuit to race just three horses held claims. This daughter of Shirocco was one of them and she launched her challenge coming to the last, and with a swifter leap at that obstacle she was able to defeat the previously-placed runner-up quite snugly at the line. The time was nine seconds quicker than the average on the card, coming in quicker than both the four-year-old maiden and open on the card which is noteworthy.
