Walking The Walk got off the mark at the third time of asking when landing the five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Knockmullen House. The Son of Imperial Monarch, who finished a fine third at Ballycrystal two weeks earlier, always had an eye on the runaway leader, Fully Authorised and eventually reeled him in on the home bend. The five-year-old showed the benefit of his experience when turning into the home straight, as he pulled clear of long-time leader Fully Authorised, to then gamely run all the way to the line, coming home with two lengths to spare. Out of a half-sister to five-time winning mare Shining Gale, this gelding seems to be a versatile sort, who looks to have the potential to develop into a smart track performer that can further add to this winning family.
