Drumlee Getaway made her debut a winning one when taking her five-year-old mares’ maiden at Punchestown in February. The daughter of Getaway travelled strongly throughout and produced a nice turn of foot early in the home bend when making her move. She swiftly made her way to the front approaching the last and her turn of foot was particularly notable a couple of strides after the last, when she extended her advantage in a number of strides. The bay mare was well in command on the run-in with the winning rider able to ease her down in the closing stages to come home one-and-a-half lengths ahead of the runner-up. Given how she travelled with such ease into this event, Drumlee Getaway highlighted herself as a very exciting sort that is bred to develop into a smart type on the track and could have a lot to offer to new connections.
