Willie Butler has shaped very promisingly on his two starts to date for handler Peter Flood, finishing placed on both occasions. The son of Yeats was only beaten two lengths on his debut in a four-year-old maiden in December at Tattersalls, having stayed on very well late in the day behind a decent looking prospect. This good-looking sort was then only beaten half a length in third, on his next start in a five-year-old maiden at Oldtown, in a contest which did not entirely play to his strengths. It would appear that this half-brother to the 140 rated Mulcahy’s Hill would relish a relish a stiffer test of stamina as he was doing his best work at the finish here. Going forward this promising five-year-old looks likely to make a big impression under rules.
