Ocean Drifter made a very promising debut when beaten less than seven lengths in the four-year-old maiden at Punchestown. Having disputed the running for much of the contest, the debutant helped to ensure the pace was decent. The son of Aizavoski picked up the advantage on the run to the penultimate obstacle and still held every chance turning into the home straight before tiring a little on the run to the line. Having just lost second in the dying strides, this likable four-year-old looks open to plenty of improvement and may well develop into an exciting prospect under rules following this encouraging debut.
