Ask Dillon made a winning reappearance when he took his five-year-old geldings’ maiden at Nenagh in January. Having the experience of one run last season where he finished seventh at Broughshane in a competitive four-year-old maiden, this progressive gelding made little of the testing ground conditions to travel and jump well throughout. He made progress from the third last fence and showed game battling qualities to lead from before the final fence where he stayed on well to win by six lengths. A half-brother to two track winners, Ask Dillon is also from the family of the talented Graded performer Shotgun Paddy. The son of Ask showed a likeable attitude and looks like a horse that could be a real money spinner for his new connections.
