A half-sister to Willie Mullins’ Grade 1-winner Ballycasey, Delta Blues Belle is a very consistent performer who gained a deserved victory at Knockmullen House last month. Third on debut at Loughrea last May, he again filled that position when re-appearing in a very competitive Umma House contest. The form of that race has worked out strongly, with the runner-up going on to win impressively on her next start, whilst the two horses that finished behind her have both since stepped-up to finish in the placings. Given that, it was no surprise that Dela Blues Belle gained a maiden victory of her own, which she achieved at Knockmullen House, in a strongly-run contest. There were few hiding places, with the race clocking the quickest time on the card, some 12 seconds quicker than the average on the card, but it was notable just how strongly she travelled into the race, striking the front early in the home straight, before generously finding for pressure to win as the pair pulled 15 lengths clear of their rivals. She certainly looks like a track winner in waiting.
