The runner up had been supported into favourite suggesting plenty of confidence and this fellow was a close up third. He was sent out to make the running suggesting both that he is a very uncomplicated and straightforward sort and also that connections had confidence in his ability to deliver a top performance on debut. He lead all the way to the second last where he got close to that obstacle and whilst not quite accelerating with the winner from the last he stayed on gamely and looks a likely candidate to step up for the run.
