La Chanteuse has proved a progressive sort going on to win the National Hunt Flat Race at Ayr on 2 November for the Crawford team. The 5yo daughter of Scorpion had previously shown up well in two bumpers for connections and gained a deserved success at the Ayrshire track when taking on geldings . Held up towards the rear, she made smooth headway to three furlongs from home to lead a furlong out and run on well to win in good style. She backed this up with a solid effort when placed 4th on her next start in the Mares Listed bumper at Navan on 24 November to the highly regarded Gordon Elliott trained Bigbadandbeautiful. A fruitful novice hurdle campaign now beckons for her.
