Batt O’Connell’s charge Truckers Pass was only beaten a head in the second division of the four-year-old maiden at Ballindenisk. In a race which was run a full 16 seconds faster than the opening division, the Kalanisi gelding made smooth progress from mid-division inside the final mile, to jump the penultimate obstacle in second place. While the debutant appeared a little green on the run to the last, Shane Bargery’s mount stuck to his task well on the run to the line, getting to within just a head of the leader. This was a decent performance from a horse that is sure to improve.
